45 in a Row: Ford F-Series is America’s Bestselling Truck Again

For 45 years in a row, the Ford F-Series has reigned supreme as the bestselling truck in America. Ford secured the 45th year of dominance thanks in no small part to the new F-150 — a class-leading, innovative pickup you can check out now at Tropical Ford in Orlando, Florida.

The Ford F-150 and Super Duty finished the year with a combined 726,004 trucks sold in the United States. That was enough to beat the No. 2 truck by a total of 156,616, making 2021 yet another dominant year for America’s favorite truck.

2021 didn’t just mark 45 straight years for the F-Series as America’s bestselling truck. It was also the 40th year in a row that the F-Series has been America’s top-selling vehicle overall.

There are tons of reasons why drivers turn to the new F-150 in particular. From class-leading towing and a first-in-class hybrid to technologies like BlueCruise and SYNC® 4, this is the smartest, toughest, and most capable truck Ford has ever made.

But Ford isn’t stopping there. Just over the horizon is the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, a game-changer of a truck that delivers zero emissions with zero compromises. Clearly, Ford intends to make the F-Series America’s bestselling truck for 46 years and well beyond.

Whether you’re interested in the first-ever all-electric Ford truck, the undeniable F-150, or the workhorse Super Duty, contact Tropical Ford. We’ll help you get the truck you want and make selling or trading in your current ride easy.

2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Races in Best in the Desert Mint 400 Off-Road Race

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor participated in the Best in the Desert Mint 400 Off-Road Race, making it the first full-size truck in this class to race in this category. The Raptor finished in 23rd place overall after racing in nine different classes, and was one of just 19 teams in the limited group that finished the race out of 68 entries.

The Raptor completed the two laps on the track in 9 hours and 10 minutes, while the first, second, and third place winners of the unlimited class race were all modified Ford trucks.

The 2017 Raptor is lightweight thanks to its aluminum body, which allows it to use an EcoBoost engine that’s smaller, more powerful, and more fuel efficient than the average. Its suspension is improved from other F-150 models and it comes with off-road tires. The EcoBoost engine is paired with a 10-speed transmission and a torque-on-demand transfer case.
