Ford is always striving to make the world a better place. The automaker is leading the charge towards vehicle electrification, cutting carbon emissions, and achieving sustainability. And to keep track of these strides, the brand has released the latest installment of its Integrated Sustainability and Financial Report, which now includes the inaugural Ford Human Rights Report.
In these annual reports, the brand voluntarily discloses its progress towards its environmentally conscious goals, such as achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This year, Ford achieved a few impressive milestones. The brand has cut its water consumption by 78% since the year 2000, and recently joined forces with Redwood Materials to help drivers recycle their EV batteries.
Along with the Integrated Sustainability and Financial Report, Ford released a Human Rights Report — a first for both the brand and the U.S. automotive industry. This report details how the automaker sources its materials, as well as how the brand manufactures components and manages its labor force.
Recent triumphs include the creation of diversity, equity, and inclusion goals to increase gender and racial diversity within the company’s senior ranks, along with initiatives to improve access to nutrition and medicine in underserved communities at home and abroad.
