Though the world isn’t ending anytime soon, life nowadays can feel a bit apocalyptic. To help cope with some of that stress and let our imaginations run wild, Rob Gill, an automotive writer for The Sun, recently called the Ford Ranger Raptor, “the perfect bug-out vehicle for the end of days.”

In a true apocalypse, we can imagine the world being a rough and rocky place with destruction everywhere. You would want a vehicle that could conquer any terrain that comes in its path and the Ranger Raptor is that truck.

According to Gill, the truck’s off-road capabilities are “truly epic” thanks to its ability to tear up gravel roads at more than 100 mph and take on big jumps with ease. You also won’t have to worry about running out of fuel in the future apocalyptic world and siphoning fuel as often because it offers about 26 mpg.

When you are ready to return to civilization after living out your apocalyptic daydream, the Ranger Raptor makes it easy with breadcrumbs navigation. It drops a navigational pin every second so you can follow them on your way back home.

The only downside to the Ranger Raptor is that it is not yet available in the United States; however, according to some sources, it could arrive sometime in 2022.

The Ford Ranger Raptor Earns 4×4 of the Year in Australia

4x4 of the Year | Tropical Ford Blog | Orlando, FL

We know what it takes to take on the off-roads here in the States, and apparently so do our friends down under — the Australian Motoring Awards recently announced that the Ford Ranger Raptor is Australia’s 2019 4×4 of the Year.

The Ford Ranger Raptor features a 210-horsepower 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, Fox racing shocks, BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, and Ford’s advanced Terrain Management System. 4×4 Australia, the magazine responsible for selecting each year’s winner, says that the Ford Ranger Raptor is an “enormously fun-to-drive, competent, and capable” off-roading vehicle, perfect “on any back road — the rougher the better — or any 4×4 track.”

Unfortunately, the all-new Ford Ranger Raptor is still unavailable in the United States, but it’s been causing a ruckus across Australia, Europe, and Asia since its release last year. You can expect to see this innovative off-roader on American back roads — and here at Tropical Ford — in the next few years, likely with the release of the next generation of Ford Ranger trucks.

Coming in a close second for the 2019 4×4 of the Year was another Ford Ranger model, the Ford Ranger XLT Bi-Turbo. The last time the title went to a Ford vehicle was in 2015, when the Ford Everest snared the top prize.

Ford Holds Ranger Raptor Debut at Gamescom

Ford is full of surprises — and the automaker is proving it with the reveal of the new Ford Ranger Raptor at a surprising venue: Gamescom, Europe’s largest video game convention.

Gamescom is a huge celebration in Cologne, Germany, and the perfect opportunity for major debuts. Although it’s primarily dedicated to celebrating the latest video games, Gamescom’s 350,000+ visitors make it a great place to give the new Ranger Raptor lots of attention.

There’s a specific reason why Ford chose the Ranger Raptor debut for Gamescom 2018: the new truck will appear in the newest Forza Horizon release, set to roll out October 2. Between two Ranger Raptor models at Ford’s booth, the automaker also invited visitors to experience its 4D racing simulator and eight immersive gaming pods.

“Since the Ford GT graced the cover of Forza Motorsport 6 in 2015, millions of gamers have driven Ford performance cars on Forza’s virtual roads, experiencing these impressive cars at their limits in Forza’s world-class simulation engine,” said Dan Greenawalt, creative director of the Forza Racing Franchise “Almost 700,000 unique Forza drivers already added the F-150 Raptor to their virtual garage, and there’s little doubt the Ranger Raptor will be just as coveted.”

We at Tropical Ford are excited to see the Ford Ranger Raptor finally debut publically, and can’t wait for it to arrive at our showroom. Contact us if you’d like to receive notice once the rugged truck becomes available.
