Ford is making good on its promise to deliver affordable and highly capable electric vehicles (EVs) to drivers and businesses with the debut of the all-new Ford Transit Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The impressive and efficient commercial van debuted recently at the Cenex Low Carbon Vehicle 2017 event, and businesses looking for an affordable, efficient, and clean fleet vehicle are rightfully excited.

Slated to roll out in volume in 2019, the Ford Transit PHEV features an advanced hybrid system capable of emission-free driving for up to 31+ miles. The new Transit will also be equipped with the award-winning Ford EcoBoost 1.0-liter engine to extend its driving range.

With the release of the Transit PHEV, Ford will be the only automaker to offer such technology in a commercial van. The van will offer, for the first time, unbeatable fuel-efficiency for urban-operating businesses that rely on fleet vehicles for a variety of transit needs.

The new Transit PHEV signals that Ford is ready to remain a top automaker as electric vehicles become increasingly in-demand, which is great news for drivers, as they can continue to count on unstoppable Ford performance without sacrificing cutting-edge efficiency.

Come into Tropical Ford to learn more about the upcoming Ford Transit PHEV van and discover a better way for your business to get around.

Ford to Bring Connected Commercial Vehicle Services to the Road

Connected Commercial Vehicle Sales - Tropical Ford BlogBusiness owners who want to stay connected with their employees on the road won’t have to wait long. Ford is partnering with Telogis to provide employers with a convenient way to track and optimize their fleet vehicles. The connected commercial vehicle services will be available on models equipped with the Ford SYNC® Connect infotainment system.

The Telogis-provided service will be available first in 2018 Ford F-150 models equipped with SYNC® Connect. From there, companies simply need to link their vehicles to an existing Ford Telematics or Telogis account.

Ford’s connected commercial vehicle services will allow companies to monitor and optimize its fleets and, by extension, workers. Through the Ford SYNC® Connect system, companies can keep track of vehicle location, navigation, route planning, and driver behavior.

“The addition of connectivity in Ford commercial vehicles provides value for customers that goes way beyond owning a great truck,” said Susan Heystee, VP of worldwide OEM sales, Telogis.

The Telogis Mobile Resource Management software will begin its roll out with the 2018 F-150. Other commercial vehicles, like the Ford Transit Connect, will follow soon after.

We at Tropical Ford are happy to see Ford offering new ways for business owners to optimize their fleets.
