Ford recently launched its new Max Recline Seats for the Ford F-150, part of America’s best-selling pickup truck line for 43 years. These ergonomic seats make it easy for passengers to get comfortable, making the F-150 perfect for long shifts on a jobsite and family road trips.
These new available Max Recline Seats fold down to nearly 180 degrees for an almost flat lounging experience. According to Ben Kulhawik, a seat designer at Ford, the new Max Recline Seats were “inspired by those adjustable beds you see on TV.”
“We know the folks who work on construction or mining sites use their truck cab for naps during downtime, and we learned everyday owners do, too,” explained Jackie DiMarco, Ford truck product line director. “When I would take my daughters to hockey tournaments, between games, one would be sleeping in the back seat while the other would be on the floor of my truck, and it reinforced the idea that, ‘We need to fix this!’”
These seats are truly ingenious—and quite comfy. According to Ford, the design of the seats allows the seat bottom to rise to provide greater back support. You can also rotate the upper seatback forward to improve neck comfort.
You’ll be able to opt for the Max Recline Seats on the 2021 Ford F-150, specifically on King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models.
