A new addition to the Ford lineup is about to revolutionize the full-size pickup segment. The 2022 F-150 Lightning is Ford’s first all-electric truck — and it boasts some seriously impressive features and capabilities.
The F-150 Lightning carries two electric motors and battery pack options with 230 miles of standard range or 300 miles of extended range. When connected to a fast charger, the Lightning can power up from 15 percent to 80 percent in about 40 minutes.
This truck’s mighty powertrain provides 563 horsepower, 775 lb-ft of torque, and the ability to accelerate 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. You’ll also get standard 4×4, up to 10,000 pounds of towing capability, and a 2,000-pound payload rating.
Advanced battery power gives the F-150 Lightning some abilities you just can’t get in a regular truck. The lockable, drainable Mega Power Frunk takes up the space that would normally be reserved for a gas engine. It includes four electrical outlets, two USB ports, and room for 400 pounds of cargo.
You can also get up to 9.6 kilowatts of combined power on the go with enhanced Pro Power Onboard — perfect for running tools and appliances. Available Ford Intelligent Backup Power goes even farther, allowing the F-150 Lightning to supply your house with electricity if the power goes out.
With these features and so much more, the F-150 Lightning is sure to leave you amazed. It’ll arrive this spring, but if you want to learn more right away, give us a call here at Tropical Ford in Orlando, Florida.
