Ford has never faltered in delivering on its commitment to American workers, providing good jobs to hard-working folks from sea to shining sea. To this end, the manufacturer recently kicked off Ford Ranger production at its assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan.

This newest round of Ford Ranger production marks an $850-million investment by Ford in the 3,000-strong Michigan Assembly Plant. These 3,000 workers are feeling very merry indeed this Christmas season thanks to Ford’s production move. Ford transitioned from production of the Focus at the Michigan Assembly Plant to open availability for production of the 2019 Ford Focus.

The investment doesn’t end with the Ford Ranger, however. Starting in 2020, Ford will also produce the Bronco once more at the Michigan Assembly Plant.

All of us here at Tropical Ford are looking forward to the return of the Ford Ranger. The 2019 model promises to be a game-changer. It features a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission system, best-in-class payload, integrated Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, plus amongst other safety technologies.

The 2019 Ford Ranger is almost here, and we can’t wait. From its strong performance to its trail-ready capability, the Ranger makes a stunning entrance into the midsize pickup truck segment.

The Ranger will be produced at the newly updated Michigan Assembly Plant, which has been producing Ford vehicles for six decades. This adventurous pickup will come equipped with a standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, offering you smooth power and capability for whatever terrain you choose to traverse. In fact, the Ranger offers the most torque of any midsize pickup out there, so you can feel cool and confident while behind the wheel. The engine comes paired with a class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission, which further elevates the feel of your ride, and features Auto Start-Stop technology that works to optimize efficiency.

Remarkably, the Ranger also boasts best-in-class towing and payload. When equipped with the Trailer Tow Package and trailer brake controller, the spirited 2019 Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds. Rick Bolt, the chief engineer of the Ford Ranger, expressed pride in the model’s enhanced brawn. “Think of Ranger as the biggest and most capable backpack for your gear. With 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, Ranger can haul nearly a ton of gear to enable your next adventure.”
