The 2018 F-150 awards are coming in left and right, including the recent Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) award. Scoring top marks at the Texas Truck Rodeo hosted by the TAWA, the new F-150 impressed judges with its competitive design and precision-tuned EcoBoost® engine options. The F-150 Raptor also took first place in the Off-Road Pickup Truck category.
According to Ford, the TAWA panel at the Truck Rodeo consists of more than 70 journalists who are experts in the auto industry, all of whom test pickups for more than 300 hours. Believe it or not, the Ford F-Series has won 14 other times throughout the history of the TAWA awards.

The 2017 Raptor is lightweight thanks to its aluminum body, which allows it to use an EcoBoost engine that’s smaller, more powerful, and more fuel efficient than the average. Its suspension is improved from other F-150 models and it comes with off-road tires. The EcoBoost engine is paired with a 10-speed transmission and a torque-on-demand transfer case.
